Preschool Robot Activities

Supply Crafts

• Preschoolers can make their own robots. Give the preschoolers supplies such as empty toilet paper and paper towel rolls, cardboard boxes, buttons, rhinestones, markers, paint, glitter pens, aluminum foil, plastic wrap, duct tape and construction paper. You can also have them work in groups to make a large robot. Alternatively, give the children small juice boxes to make miniature robots.

Easy Activities

• For easy robot activities, simply print coloring pages from the Internet. Children can use silver or gold paint pens to make a shiny robot. Other ideas include robot dot-to-dot, or find a large robot puzzle and have the entire preschool class work on putting the puzzle together.

Edible Crafts

• Young children can use a few pantry items to create edible robot crafts. For a fruit and vegetable robot, use square and round crackers to create a body, followed by long sliced pickles, cherry tomatoes, grapes, cheese and cucumbers for the face, arms and legs. To make candy robots, have the preschoolers use sour candy strips, small candy pieces and frosting or icing pens.

Robot Games

• Move around with some entertaining robot-themed games. Play some music and have the children do their best robot moves. Award some prizes for the best, funniest and most creative robot moves. You can also put a twist on several classic games by incorporating a robot theme. Have the children play a game of "Hot Robot," instead of "Hot Potato" or "Pin the Head on the Robot." Award small robot toys or party favors to game winners for a job well done.
