Country Farmer Race

• The country farmer race is a relay race played with overalls. Players are divided into two teams, with half of each team lined up at each side of the playing area. One player on each team starts the race by dressing up as a farmer -- putting on a hat and overalls over his clothes and then running to his teammates at the other end of the playing area. He takes his overalls and hat off and his teammate at the front of the line on that side dresses in them and runs to the other side. This continues until every player on the team has run in the race. The first team to finish is the winner.

Stuff Those Overalls

• Players form pairs of two in this game. The first player puts on a pair of overalls that are very baggy. When the whistle blows, the second player must run to a basket of balloons filled with air. The teams compete against each other in this game to see who can fill their overalls with the most balloons within a three minute time period. After three minutes, count the number of water balloons in each pair of overalls, ones that have popped or fallen out do not count.

Scarecrow Contest

• Give each team of competitors a pair of overalls and stockings to build a scarecrow. Place other supplies for building the scarecrow such as a pipe, buttons for eyes and other decorations in the playing area. Teams compete to build the best scarecrow in the shortest amount of time. The first team to finish receives 10 points, the second team receives five points and the third team receives three points. A judge then assesses each scarecrow based on appearance, awarding up to 20 points for design. Combine the scores for the speed and appearance categories, the highest scoring team wins.

Overalls Water Balloon Basketball

• The Overalls Water Balloon Basketball game is one that gives players a chance to cool off on a hot summer day. Players pair up into teams of two. One player wears overalls with a waist that is much too large for him, such as a triple extra large for an adult that usually wears a large. He holds the waist out in front of him with his arms extended, forming a basket out of the overalls as a target. The other player has 90 seconds to toss as many water balloons as possible into the overalls. The team that has the most number of water balloons that haven't popped in the overalls is the winner. The distance between partners is up to the game organizer, but is typically five to 15 feet.
