Dora Games for Kindergarten

Many children in kindergarten adore Dora, the main character in the show "Dora the Explorer." She's a character who seeks adventure and helps children who watch the show learn from her adventures. Play games relating to the show for additional enjoyment in the classroom. You'll find a plethora of online "Dora the Explorer" games and printables that may be converted into classroom games.
  1. Jigsaw Puzzles

    • Kindergartners can enjoy putting together jigsaw puzzles of Dora's different adventures. Nick Jr.'s website offers "Dora the Explorer" printable puzzles for children to complete. The jigsaw puzzles include images of Dora playing outdoors, biking and playing with her friends. You can also make color copies of a "Dora the Explorer" story book cover or pages within it to create a puzzle. Draw equal squares across the entire page, glue it to sturdy paper, and cut the squares out as puzzle pieces.

    Spot the Difference

    • In each adventure with Dora, she highlights specific objects within a scene or differences between objects. Create a game of "Spot the Difference" in the classroom by placing different objects on a table for your kindergartners to guess which one is different. For instance, you can gather several red objects like a red apple, strawberries, a red hat and a blue pen. Ask students to spot which object is different.

    Find It!

    • Dora encourages children to learn with her on adventures by asking for help locating different objects on the screen. Turn your classroom into a treasure hunt for children. Hide five different objects around the classroom, and ask students to help find the hidden objects. The game may also be played on paper. Nick Jr.'s website offers a printable "Swiper's Matching Game," in which children need to find and circle different objects on paper.

    Dora's Ballet Adventures

    • Nick Jr.'s website offers a dance game in which children can choreograph dance moves for Dora. After choreographing, students can perform the dance moves with Dora. Display your computer screen for students to view. Practice each step Dora makes with students, and then perform them with Dora. There's also an episode called "Everyone Can Dance," in which students can follow Dora's dance moves to help Swiper escape from a bottle.
