How to Play Bakugan Battle

"Bakugan" is a game played with spring-action toys derived from the television show of the same name. It was created in Japan, but is very popular in the United States and Canada. It was first released in 2006 with the television series. There are six different attributes that Bakugan have. Three of them make up the power triangle -- Pyrus (fire), Aquos (water), and Haos (light). The last three make up the triangle of power -- Darkus (darkness), Ventus (wind) and Subterra (rock). You can play a regular game with two people or by Big Game rules with four people.

Instructions

    • 1

Pick the player who goes first, usually it's the younger player but you can adjust the rules to move clockwise or counter-clockwise if you prefer.

    • 2

Have each player set a Gate Card face down on the field, end to end of each other. Put all your pieces in an unused pile. Hold your cards so the other player can't see them.

    • 3

Take turns rolling your Bakugan onto the Gate cards until two are on the same card.

    • 4

Flip over the Gate Card and follow the instructions to start a battle when two Bakugan land on the same card.

    • 5

Inform the other player if you are using an ability card. Follow the instructions on the card then put it in the used pile.

    • 6

Put down a trap that has the same attribute of your Bakugan if you desire. Pick which attribute you want your Bakugan to switch to. Add extra G-Power that trap gives you to your Bakugan. Put the trap in your used pile.

    • 7

Find the color of the Bakugan on the Gate Card. Add the number to your Bakugan's G-Power. Add up the Bakugan's G-power, the highest one wins the battle. Put the Gate card on your used pile if you won the battle.

    • 8

Decide which Bakugan was on the card first -- if their G-powers were tied -- to decide who wins the battle.
