Physical Training
Endurance and survival skills are crucial to being a good spy. Exercise regularly and practice good nutrition. Avoid too much sugar including soda and candy. A fat spy may not be able to elude his enemy and may get caught. Don't overdo the exercise, though; muscle-bound bodies stand out as much as overweight bodies. You want to blend in with the crowd.
Language Training
Good spies need to learn several languages like German, Russian, French and Arabic. Language skills are important not just for discovering foreign secrets, but for enabling a spy to blend in while spying on a foreign country. Spies should also learn how to read and write codes and ciphers to send and receive secret messages. One such method is the Caesar Cipher using a simple substitution of one letter of the alphabet for another.
Surveillance Training
Surveillance is one of the most important techniques a spy needs to master. Whether you are following an enemy agent, or staking out a suspect, remaining undetected is the key. Active surveillance is when a spy is moving, either on foot or by bike for a kid spy. Sometimes, a quick-change disguise is necessary to remain undetected. Try a hat or wig. Countersurveillance is used if you think someone is following you. Check the area to see if anyone appears suspicious. Look for listening devices, and remember the location of objects in your room to see if they are moved when you are out.
Resisting Interrogation
Come up with a good cover story if you are caught spying on someone. You should only spy on people you know to avoid getting in dangerous situations. Your captors may try to trick you. Try to remain calm during the interrogation, and don't give secrets away. If you can escape safely, do it.
