Fun Shouting Games

Games that involve shouting are enjoyed by children who are toddlers or older. A toddler enjoys shouting because she is learning about "the power of her voice, and experimenting with what she can do with it," according to Baby Center. Older children enjoy shouting games because it can help them release their excitement.
  1. Copy My Sound

    • Toddlers enjoy games of imitation. They enjoy being imitated and imitating you. When you find your toddler shouting for the purpose of play and experimenting with her voice, copy the sounds she is making and imitate it. She will begin to realize you are playing with her. Take turns imitating different sounds she makes and make new sounds of your own for her to copy, such as the sound of a car -- "vroom, vroom" or a fire truck -- "wee woo, wee woo."

    Holy Ghost

    • The game of "Holy Ghost" involves creating an obstacle course in the play area using items you have around you, such as pillows, chairs and blankets. One person is selected to go through the obstacle course blindfolded and another player takes the role of the Holy Ghost to provide the blindfolded player with directions, using words such as left, right, straight, or stop. While the Holy Ghost is shouting directions, other players shout directions in an attempt to misdirect the blindfolded player. The blindfolded player must use his listening skills to hone in on the Holy Ghost's directions to complete the obstacle course.

    Sardines

    • The game of "Sardines" is played the opposite way of "Hide and Seek." The person labeled "it" goes into hiding as the other players close their eyes and count to 30. After counting, those who are not "it" goes searching for "it" independently. Those who find "it" go into hiding together. When only one player remains searching, the entire group in hiding shouts "Sardines!"

    Screaming Toes

    • "Screaming Toes" is played by standing in a circle. Each person decides on a person and looks at that person's feet. When everyone is finished selecting a person in their mind, the entire group shouts "Screaming Toes!" and looks at the person's face. If the other player is also looking at you, you scream and the both of you leave the circle. The game continues until only two players remain as the winners.
