Bakery Games for Kids

Kids with an interest in baked goods and cooking may want to make bread, cake, cookies and other items they see in a bakery. While kids may enlist adults to supervise their baking endeavors, they can play computer bakery games to get and use toy baking items pretend baking their favorite items. The games challenge players to run a bakery, make baked goods and serve orders to customers in an accurate and timely manner.
  1. Cake Design Games

    • Kids can recreate cakes in the computer game "Cake Bakery," accessible at Didi Games. Using a pre-made cake as a guide, players choose the right type of cake and drag the right ingredients from the shelves and refrigerator to the center of the screen. In another game, players try to decorate a cake exactly as requested in "Maggie's Bakery: Kitchen Queen," found at Y8. After preparing and baking baking the cake, kids look at Maggie's model and decorate the cake as precisely as possible to earn the maximum score. Kids try to match cake designs before time runs out in "Shaquita's Bakery," found at GirlsGoGames. Players select the cake type, frosting and decoration accessories, and click on bunnies and other items to score bonus points.

    Customer Satisfaction Games

    • Players try to fulfill customers' orders as quickly as possible in "Belle's Bakery," found at Didi Games. Customers may get mad if they receive wrong orders or if they wait too long. The game ends if players upset five customers or do not reach their monetary goal before the bakery closes. Jill Evans tries to earn enough money operating multiple bakeries to reopen her grandparents' bakery in "Cake Mania," available as a one-hour free-trial download at Sandlot Games. In this game, kids select the right cakes, bake them and apply frosting to fulfill customer orders. Customers leave the bakery if they wait too long. Other games in the "Cake Mania" series include "Cake Mania 2," "Cake Mania 3" and "Cake Mania: Main Street." Kids try to fulfill exact orders before time runs out in "Cookies Bakery," accessible at 123Bee. As plates travel on a conveyor belt, players choose the right cookie, icing and toppings.

    Pretend Play

    • Kids can pretend to operate their own bakery when using items such as Learning Resources' "Pretend &Play Bakery Set," recommended for ages 3 and up. Kids take turns playing baker and customer as they use baking tools such as a measuring cup, rolling pin and spoon. Plastic food items in the playset include bread, cookies, pies, fruit ingredients for the pie and a breakable egg containing yolk.

    Miscellaneous Games

    • A couple tries to keep their boss oblivious to their workplace kissing in "Bakery Shop Kissing," found at Didi Games. Kids hold down the left mouse button to make the boy and girl kiss. When a red exclamation point appears above the boss' head, players release the mouse button before the boss sees them. Kids advance to the next level if they fill the kiss meter before time runs out. The boss fires the girl and boy if he or another employee catches them kissing. Players help Greedy Smurf catch various food items in "Greedy's Bakeries," accessible at Learn 4 Good. In this game, kids lose a life if food touches the ground and earn an extra life if they catch bonus items.
