Bible Verse Games
Divide the pre-teens into two teams. Have one player from each team stand at a dry-erase or chalkboard. Call out the name of a Bible verse, such as Galatians 5:22. The first player to write the correct verse on the board wins a point for his team. Keep switching players and awarding a point for each correct answer. The team with the most points wins the game. For another verse game, write Bible verses on index cards and cut the verses in half (vertically). Hide the verses around the room and players must find a complete Bible verse in order to win a prize.
Bible Bingo Games
Print Bible-related bingo cards with pictures including a Bible, a cross, a dove and Noah's Ark in the squares. Print or write down the same words and place them in a cup. Give each pre-teen a bingo card and call out the words or pictures. The first player to bingo and yell "I love Bible school," wins a small prize. For a variation, play with Bible character names or books of the Bible.
Bible Knowledge Games
Test your pre-teen's Bible knowledge by playing a game of Bible baseball. Draw a baseball diamond on the chalkboard or dry-erase board and divide the players into two teams. Have each team stand in a line. Ask the first player in line a question about the Bible. If she answers correctly, draw her standing on first base. Ask the next player on her team a question. If she answers correctly, the first base player moves to second and that player moves to first. If she answers incorrectly, she is out and the question moves to the next player in line. Three outs and the play moves to the other team. The team who scores the most runs after five innings wins the game. For a variation, ask only questions about the books of the Bible or questions from only one book of the Bible and give the pre-teens 15 minutes to study with their teams before playing.
Printable Games
Create or print Bible word searches, crossword puzzles and quizzes for the pre-teens to take. Review a couple of the questions and words before handing out the papers. Give each pre-teen a paper face down with a pencil. When you say "Go," they turn their papers over and complete the puzzles, word searches or quizzes. The first player to finish with all the correct answers wins the game and a small prize.
