Block Games
Have the preschoolers sit at a table and give each child a bag of building blocks. Give the children 10 minutes to build something with their blocks. Tell the children to use their imagination and creativity. After 10 minutes, let each preschooler explain his creation. Award participation prizes to each preschooler or award prizes to the best, most creative and funniest creations. For another block game, divide the preschoolers into groups of two or three. Give each group a large bag of blocks and 20 minutes to build a creation. Tell the children they must work together on their creations. Award prizes for a job well done.
Edible Games
Give each preschooler a bag of miniature marshmallows, large marshmallows and pretzel sticks. Set a timer for five minutes and tell the children to build the tallest tower they can in five minutes. If a child's tower falls before the five minutes is up, tell her to start her tower again. The child with the tallest standing tower after five minutes wins a prize. For another edible game, pour milk to small cups and add food coloring to each cup. Let the preschoolers use paintbrushes to paint the colored milk on a piece of white bread. Award prizes to the best creations. Toast the bread and let the preschoolers eat their masterpieces.
Creature Games
Ask the preschoolers to sit around a table and place supplies on the table. Supplies include pompoms, chenille stems, googly eyes and glue. Tell the preschoolers to make a creature using the supplies. Award prizes for the scariest, silliest and most creative creatures. For another idea, give each preschooler two rectangle tissue boxes to make "monster feet." The children will use construction paper, tape, stickers, rhinestones and markers to create the feet. Have children put the boxes on their feet to show off their creations, and award prizes to the best feet.
Outdoor Games
Pour bubble mixture in several flat pie pans and add food coloring to each pan. Place a large sheet of white butcher paper on the ground. Give each preschooler a bubble wand. Children must dip the bubble wands in the bubble solution and blow the bubbles over the paper. When the bubbles pop on the paper, they will make a color explosion. Award prizes to the best pictures. Create another outdoor creativity game by giving each child a paintbrush and a bucket of water. Have the children draw pictures on a fence or concrete sidewalk with the water. This dries clear and leaves no mess; however, the preschoolers will be able to see their picture as they draw it. Award prizes to the best water paintings.
