Color Coded Filing
This game is especially effective for younger girls. Have a filing cabinet ready with colored file folders in it. Have stacks of different colored documents out of order. Let girls sort paper according to the colored folder it belongs to.
Typing Race
Write out memos for girls to type up. Set a stop watch to time how fast they type. The fastest and most accurate typist wins. This game is most effective for older girls who are learning how to type.
Answering Phones
Use an old unplugged phone or series of phones and set them out. Tell the girl what to say when answering the phone. An example is "Good afternoon, you've reached so and so's office. My name is (child's name), how can I help you?" This is a make-believe game that a number of girls can play by pretending to call each other.
Stamping
Create a stack and a paper tray for each girl. This stack of paper works well if you have actual documents that would normally go into the trash or recycle bin so that it feels more "official." Have a fairly large array of different stamps to choose from. A good mix of office stamps and non office stamps will make this game more fun. Have different colored ink pads out to choose from so the documents will be more colorful. Have the girls put their finished pieces in the tray.
