Ideas for Plastic Soldier Battles

Plastic soldiers are one of the most traditional and basic toys that exist. They are budget-friendly toys and can be found almost anywhere. This toy is based on imagination which means there are many ways to play with it. There are also different variations available including different colors which may make some of the battles more interesting visually.
  1. Bowling Battle

    • Bowling does not have to be done in a bowling alley. It can be a battle between armies!

Play this game with two players. Each player will have his own army of plastic soldiers. They need to set them in a group together in any formation they would like, but all soldiers will need to have equal space between them. Each player has a turn bowling either a bouncy ball or a marble toward the other player's army. The first player who takes out all the other player's soldiers wins.

The Battle of Good and Evil

    • It's up to the player whether good or evil will prevail.

This is the traditional plastic soldier game and requires imagination. This can be played with one or more players. Have two armies, one good and one evil. Pretend to fight. Include sound effects. Use the environment and elements from it to play, like plants to hide behind or hills to climb. It's up to the player's imagination who will win.

    Dice Battle

    • Chess and checkers are not the only game that can be played on this board.

Fill all the squares of two rows of each side of a checker board with soldiers. Distinguish one of the teams with a paint dot or different colored plastic soldiers. Roll a dice. Move any of the players depending on what you roll from one to five. If you land on another player's space, you take that soldier. If a six is rolled, that player can take out any of the other person's soldiers. The first player to take all of the other player's soldiers wins.

    Plastic Parachutes

    • If you can't draw a map, just droppping parachuted soldiers from a high point is a fun game in itself.

Tie a plastic grocery bag to each soldier to create a parachute. Take your soldiers to the top of a set of stairs with cement at the bottom. On the cement where the parachuted soldiers will land, draw out a map. Create safe spots and areas where the soldiers are in danger. For example, draw unsafe parts of an ocean, rough mountains, meadows, and any other landscapes you'd like. Drop the soldiers down. See how many make it. This can also be done with two teams and the team with the most safe soldiers at the end wins.
