Mummy Wrapping Games for 6th Grade

Halloween parties are the perfect opportunity to try out a few mummy-wrapping games. Challenge your kids to wrap each other as quickly and carefully as they can or stage a relay race where they can test their quick-wrapping skills against other teams. No matter whether your children are 7 or 17, mummy-wrapping games can be fun and entertaining.
  1. Race Games

    • Have the kids pair up and give each pair a roll of white crepe paper. One player from each pair must wrap his partner in white crepe paper from head to foot as fast as possible. Once a team runs out of crepe paper, the mummy must hop to the other side of the room and cross the finish line without tearing his wrappings. Put a spin on mummy wrap race games by substituting plastic wrap for the toilet paper, which will make it difficult for players to move without falling over. Add an additional challenge by making players complete a no-hands task in order to win. Once wrapped, the mummies must make it to the finish line and eat a cookie or drink from a plastic cup without using their hands before racing back to their teammates.

    Timed Games

    • Divide the kids into groups of four and select one from each group to be the mummy--the others will be the wrappers. Give one wrapper from each team a blindfold and have him wrap as much of the mummy as he can in 30 seconds. He then passes the blindfold to the next wrapper who has 30 seconds to wrap the mummy. The first group to go through one roll of toilet paper wins. Create your own version of timed mummy wrapping games by substituting a different wrapping material such as bandages, plastic wrap or strips of cloth. You could also challenge the players by only allowing each of them to use one arm instead of being blindfolded or by not allowing them to use their hands.

    Relay Games

    • Divide the group into teams of three and give each team a roll of toilet paper and place extra rolls on a table about 15 feet away. Players must wrap one member of their team using an entire roll of toilet paper, then the mummy must walk to the table, grab another roll of toilet paper and return. The players must then unwrap the mummy carefully and wrap the second player. Once the second player is wrapped, he must walk around the table and back to his team where he will be unwrapped. After the third player is wrapped, he must make it all the way around the table and back to his teammates. The first team to finish wins. For a slightly different version of this relay game, make the teams use the toilet paper they unwrap from the first player to wrap the second and third players. This will require the teams to be extra careful when unwrapping their mummies, making it more of a challenge.

    Large Group Games

    • Break the group into pairs and have one partner from each team wrap the other partner up like a mummy using toilet paper, leaving the head uncovered and without wrapping anything below the knee. Once all players are wrapped, have them race across the room and back while you play some Halloween music. Randomly start and stop the music. Players may only move while the music is playing--if they are still moving when it stops, they must go back to the starting line. For a second large group mummy-wrap game, divide the kids into groups of three and provide them with rolls of toilet paper. The goal of the game is to wrap all three players up like mummies from neck to feet, leaving only the hands free. Players must figure out a way to get all members of their group wrapped. Once all groups are finished, have two or three adults from the party act as judges and decide which group did the best job wrapping themselves as mummies.
