For the Crown
Players will each get three bolos to try to throw onto the spin-it. Each player must aim for the same bar. The players score one point for each bolo that lands on the correct bar. Subtract points if it lands on the wrong bar. Start the game aiming for the blue bar then move on to the yellow, orange, and red. For the last round, the players aim for the center gray bar. The player with the highest score is crowned king or queen.
Move It
Stand across from the spin-it about 5 feet. Older children and adults can stand further back to make it more challenging. Each person should have three or four bolos. Players score when they throw a bolo and it lands on a bar, making it spin away from them. Each time this happens, the player scores a point. If the spin-it moves toward the player he loses a point. The first player to reach five points wins.
Play Ball
Play a game of spin-it baseball. Give each player three bolos. The players take turns throwing the three balls. The game can be scored one point for each bolo that lands on a bar or using the spin-it scoring. The spin-it scoring assigns each color bar a number of points. Green is worth one point, blue two points, orange six points, red four points, and yellow is minus 6 points. The person with the highest points at the end wins. The game can be played by individuals or teams. If a person from a team doesn't land any bolos on a bar, it is a strike. After three strikes, it's the next team's turn.
Race to the Finish
Players must race to get all their bolos on each color bar on the spin-it. The first player to do so wins. Give each player six bolos. Then, they must try to land one bolo on each bar. They can move around the spin-it, but they can't move in closer to the spin-it. Adjust the game to fewer bars needed to win for younger children. Another way to make the game more challenging is by requiring the players to land on the bars in a specific order.
Strike
Bowl using the spin-it and bolos. Just like in bowling, each person gets two bolos, and the game is over after 10 frames. When a player lands on the red bar on the first throw, it counts as a strike. The player receives 10 points and two more throws. The other bars are also worth points. Gray is worth one point, blue two points, green four points, orange six points, yellow eight points. If the two throws add up to 10, the player bowled a spare. The player gets one more throw. The player with the highest score after 10 frames wins. Smaller children may enjoy a shorter version of this game that goes to three or four frames.
