Quizzes
Give each child a sheet of paper and a pen. Play 5 to 10 seconds on each song on a Kidz Bop CD and have the children write down the name of the song. Award one point to each player for each correct song title. For an added bonus, award one point for each artist name the children get correct. For another quiz, call out an artist name and have the children write down songs that artist sings. Award a point for each correct answer and the player with the most points at the end of the game wins.
Dancing Contests
Have a variety of Kidz Bop CDs available for the children to use. Each child must select one song and perform a three-minute dance for that song. Have each child go into a different room to practice the dance. After 20 minutes, have the children come out and do the performances in front of everyone. Award prizes to the best, funniest, silliest and most creative dances. For another dance contest idea, allow the children to perform in teams. Each team must select a song and practice the dance performance. Award prizes to dance winners.
Singing Contest
Children can sing along to their favorite Kidz Bop songs by hosting a singing contest. Give each child 10 minutes to practice before performing the song in front of everyone. Tell the children they can sing along or lip-sync to the song of their choice. For added fun, give each child a makeover for the performance. For example, if a child is doing a rock song, dress him in rock clothes, a large spiky wig and leather jewelry. For a Britney Spears song, have the contestant put on a long blonde wig. The children can do the singing contest in teams, too.
Next Word or Phrase Game
Tell all the children to sit in a circle. Select one kid to go first and play a small portion of a Kidz Bop song. When you stop the song, the kid must say the next word of the song. If she answers correctly, award her a point. If she answers incorrectly, she earns no point. Keep going around the circle, allowing each player to guess the next word in the song you play. The player who earns five points first wins the game. For a harder variation, the children must guess the next five words in the song. The children can also play this game in teams so they can work together to figure out the correct answer. The first team to earn seven points wins the game.
