Toss Games
Print a picture of Dora and a picture of her monkey companion, Boots. Tape each picture to the front of a plastic pumpkin with an opening at the top. Mark a starting line ten feet from the pumpkins. Give the children ten candy corn candies to try to toss into the pumpkins. The child who makes the most candies in the pumpkins wins the game. If you can carve pumpkins, use real pumpkins for this game. Carve Boots on one pumpkin and Dora on the other pumpkin. The child can also use pumpkin seeds to toss into the pumpkins.
Dora's Halloween Show Games
Play the episode of "Dora's Halloween" for the children. After the show, ask the children a variety of questions about the show. Award a point to each child for a correct answer. The player with the most points wins the game. For another game, divide the players into teams. Go back and forth asking each team a question about the show; these can be more challenging questions, as the children of each group can work together to come up with the answer. Award each team one point for each correct answer. The team with the most points wins the game.
Scavenger Hunts
Hide several Dora-themed plastic dolls and Halloween candy around the house or yard. Halloween Dora-themed miniature dolls are available online and at many toy stores around the month of October. Give each child a Dora-themed party favor bag. Tell the children to hunt for as many Dora dolls and as much candy as they can find. They get to keep whatever they can find, but the child who finds the most candy and dolls wins the game, getting an extra prize. For another hunt, print Dora Halloween-themed pictures to hide all over the party area. The child who finds the most pictures wins the game.
Dora Halloween Circle Games
Place a Dora plush toy in a plastic pumpkin and have all the children sit in a circle. Give one child the plush doll and pumpkin. Play the Dora theme song and have the kids pass it around the circle. When the music is stopped by an adult, the player holding the pumpkin is out of the game. Keep playing and eliminating one player each round. The last player remaining in the game wins the plush Dora toy and pumpkin. For another circle game, play musical Dora prizes. Print pictures of Dora, her friends and Halloween-themed items and write numbers on each picture. Write the same numbers on small slips of paper on place them in a bowl. Put the pictures on the ground in a circle. Play music and have the children walk around the pictures. When the music stops, the children must stand on a picture. Draw a number from the bowl and the child standing on that number wins a prize.
