Name Activities
For a simple name activity, have the girls sit in a circle. Each girl must say her name and share two interesting facts about her life, hobbies or family. For another name activity, select one girl to go first. She must say, "Hi, My name is ____." The next girl in the circle must say, "Her name is _____ and my name is ______." Each girl must say the names of the girls in front of her and include her own name. If a girl has trouble remembering a name, the other Brownies can help.
Leather Brownie Bracelets
Have the girls sit around a table and give each one a leather bracelet. Leather bracelets are available online and at many retail stores. The girls can use leather-bonding glue to attach rhinestones to their bracelets. Tell the girls to select a partner. Have them make one bracelet for themselves and one to give their partners. For another idea, the girls can decorate the leather bracelets with paint and glitter pens.
Bingo Games
For a basic bingo game, print cards with "SCOUT" written at the top instead of "BINGO." When you call out the numbers, say "S8" or "U52" instead of "B8" or "G52." For another variation, fill the bingo cards with Brownie Scout words such as thin mints, Girl Scout promise, honest, Trefoil, campfire and friendships. Write the same words on small slips of paper and place them in a bowl. Give each girl a bingo card and draw the words from the bowl. The first girl to get a bingo vertically, horizontally or diagonally and yell "Brownie Girl Scouts" wins the game.
Memory Activities
Print cards with pictures that go with words like cookies, camping, fair, friendly and helpful. Print two of each picture. Laminate the cards to make them last longer and be more durable. Place the cards face down and have the girls play a game of memory. If a girl finds a match, she can go again. The girl with the most matches at the end of the game wins. For another memory game, place some of the cards face up on a tray and show the girls. Take the tray out of the room and remove one word. Take the tray back in the room and the first girl to guess which word is missing wins the game.
