Card Games
There are different card games children play that focus on marine life. "Go Fish" is a well-known card game, and various versions of it are available at stores. In the traditional game, players must try and collect the most card matches of marine animals. One version of the game is eeBoo's "Go Fish," which is for ages three and up. Another card game for children is Tina L. Seelig's "Games for Your Brain: Ocean Cards." The cards in this game feature illustrations and facts regarding ocean life. Children use the ocean cards to play games such as "Crazy Eights," "Solitaire" or "Go Fish."
Game Books
Children who enjoy reading can learn about marine life through game books, such as Cindy A. Littlefield's "Sealife Games and Puzzles." This book includes brain teasers, puzzles, games and jokes that help children learn about sea creatures and ocean life. Another book is "I Spy in the Ocean" by Damon Burnard and Julia Cairns. Children must look through a cut hole in the book to try and guess which sea creature is on the following page. The book also contains relevant facts to teach kids about marine animals.
Board Games
Certain marine animal board games are geared toward young children. For instance, Pressman's "Let's Go Fishin' Game" is a for children ages 4 and up. The object of the game is for children to try and pick up the most toy fish using a fishing rod. Another game for children 4 and up is Patch's "Shark Attack!" This game comes with a motorized shark that moves around the game board. The object of the game is to see who can move around the board and survive the longest without getting eaten by the shark.
