Distance Tips
If someone has shouted, "The plane that goes the farthest wins!" then you should follow these quick tips to make your paper plane fly farther. In order to achieve maximum distance, you should create a plane that is heavier at the nose by making multiple folds or attaching a paper clip to the front. However, if your paper airplane does a nose-dive on its first run, then you have made it too heavy. At this point, you should either remove the paper clip or bend the edges of its wings upward to balance its center of gravity.
Speed Tips
If you are trying to see whose paper airplane can hit a target first, then it is speed tips you are after. For thi,s you want to design a plane with a thin, narrow nose and a wing span that is shorter and narrower than the plane's length. Throwing this type of airplane from eye-level or above will ensure a speedy flight.
Design Tip
One of the most popular paper airplane designs for games involving speed, distance, lift, and ease of construction is called "the Eagle design." Folding instructions for this design can be found on most paper airplane websites (see Resources for links).
