Online Hairstyle Games
Younger teens can enjoy vast varieties of online hairstyling games made available on gaming websites like OY1 or Dressup Me. The OY1 website offers 60 animated haircut games for children and teens that can be played online. A few hairstyles games for teens on the site include "Hairdresser Sue" -- plus versions two and three -- "Long Haired Lady" and "Mr. Hairy Face," a game that allows you to click on several hairstyles, beards and mustaches to disguise a cartoon face. Dressup Me provides 46 hairstyling and makeover games including "Real Hair Salon," "Student Haircut" and "Evil Hairdresser" where you portray a devilish hairstylist competing against an angel to style a patron's hair.
Celebrity Hairstyle Games
For teens who enjoy pop culture and videos games, Roiworld.com -- in association with Seventeen magazine -- offers several online celebrity makeover games that allow players to completely makeover television, movie and music video stars, hairstyles included. Each game features four or more hairstyles that you can drag and drop with your mouse to makeover animated versions of popular American icons. Featured personalities vary, but by clicking on the "Celebs" tab in the navigational bar you can select the latest celebrities. Teens can also change the clothes, accessories and shoes in celebrity makeover games.
Hairstyle Charades
An easy game that can be played by both teen girls and boys is hairstyle charades. Create a list of well-known singers, historical figures, TV stars or movie characters -- with extreme or unusual hairstyles -- and write the name of each one individually on small sheets of paper. Fold the papers up and place them in a bowl or hat. Have each teen draw a name and provide the group with ample hairstyling accessories. Each teen must use the supplies to recreate the hairstyle of their chosen icon -- like Napoleon Dynamite, Albert Einstein or Amy Winehouse. One at time, have each teen silently act out scenes or behaviors associated with their character while the others try to guess who he is.
Beauty Pageant Games
For "hands-on" hairstyling fun, small groups of teen girls can have a make-believe beauty pageant. Assemble the girls in pairs and provide a variety of hair accessories and styling products -- brushes, combs, barrettes, hair bands, bobby pins and hairspray. Have each pair of girls take turns styling each other's hair. When all the girls are ready, have each one individually walk a pretend runway showcasing her new look. Allow the group to choose the best look and stylist by applause or create a ballot and assign each girl a contestant number.
