Activities for Toy Story 2

The animated children's movie, "Toy Story 2," continues the adventures of toy characters Woody and Buzz Lightyear. When planning "Toy Story 2" activities for a birthday party, classroom or social gathering for children, you can incorporate the movie characters into the games. With a few supplies and some activity ideas, you have all you need to create "Toy Story 2" activities for children of all ages.
  1. Character Bingo

    • Create bingo cards with pictures of "Toy Story 2" characters, such as Buzz Lightyear, Woody, Slinky Dog, Andy and Mr. Potato Head. Print the same characters on small slips of paper and place them in a bowl. Give each child a bingo card and bingo markers. Call out the character names and have the children mark their cards. The first player to get a bingo vertically, horizontally or diagonally wins the game. For added fun, tell the children to yell "Toy Story," instead of "Bingo."

    Missing Army Men

    • In the "Toy Story 2" movie, some of the animated toys are plastic army men. Hide several plastic army men around the play area and give each child a small plastic bag. The child who finds the most plastic army men wins the game. For another variation, hide small plastic Buzz Lightyear and Woody toys. The children who find these toys also win a small prize.

    Martian Marshmallows

    • Melt white chocolate and pour it into two separate pans. Add blue food coloring to one pan of chocolate and green to the other pan. Dip marshmallows (one or more for each child) into the green chocolate. Place them on waxed paper to dry, then dip half of each green marshmallow into the blue chocolate. After they dry, children can take a small tube of white icing to create the eyes on their monsters. Give them chocolate sprinkles to create the pupils in the eyes. Older children can do this activity with minimal adult help, while younger children will need assistance the entire time.

    Stick the Badge on Buzz

    • Draw or print a large picture of Buzz Lightyear. Print several sheriff's badges and write each child's name on a badge. Hang the picture on the wall and show the children where the badge should go. Place double-sided tape on the back of each badge. Blindfold each child and spin him four times. Tell him to place the badge on Buzz. The child who pins the badge closest to the correct spot on Buzz wins the game.

    Woody or Buzz Circle Pass

    • Have the children sit in a circle and hand one child a talking Woody or Buzz Lightyear doll. Tell that child to turn on the doll and pass him around the circle. The child who is holding the doll when he stops talking or singing is out of the game. Keep playing until only one player remains; that child wins the game.
