How to Tie Water Balloons

Every summer, children make water balloons for target practice, pranks and games. Proper water balloons are thicker than traditional party balloons meant to hold air or helium, and are built to handle the weight and pressure of water. When water balloons get slippery or overfilled, they can be difficult to tie. Proper filling techniques will make it easier to close water balloons.

Instructions

    • 1

Stretch the water balloon's neck over a faucet.

    • 2

Turn the faucet on and hold the balloon's neck in place to prevent it from slipping off the faucet. Fill the balloon up to the neck so it is stretched out but not stressed. It should look like a round sphere or oval, not a pear.

    • 3

Remove the balloon from the faucet and wrap the neck around two of your fingers to make a loop.

    • 4

Thread the end of the neck through the loop and pull tight. Your water balloon is now tied.
