Cute Driving Games for 8-Year-Old Girls

Long car rides can be daunting, especially with a load of 8-year-old girls in the back. But don't let the distance get in the way of having some fun. Instead, use the time to play games together. There are plenty of challenges for young girls on the road, many of which will offer some cute entertainment for the parents riding in the front.
  1. Fortunately, Unfortunately

    • Teach 8-year-old girls to look on the bright side of life while practicing vocabulary with the Fortunately, Unfortunately game. Start by imagining and stating something that is not good, such as "Unfortunately, there is a snake in the car." Invite one of the girls to follow the statement with a positive idea such as "Fortunately, it's a vegetarian." The next girl should continue with a negative such as "Unfortunately, we don't have any vegetables." Let the youngsters use their imaginations to keep this cute game running for as long as they like.

    Bubble Gum Blowing Contest

    • During a long drive, take a break by stopping to buy a pack of bubble gum. Give a piece to each girl in the car and invite them to have a bubble gum blowing contest. See who can create the biggest bubble with her gum before it pops. If you can, catch a peak of their cute facial expressions as they try to create the best bubble. At the next rest stop, buy another flavor of gum and let the girls compare which creates the best bubbles.

    20 Questions

    • Twenty questions is a classic car game that can be enjoyed by kids of all ages, including 8-year-old girls. One girl should start by thinking of a person, animal, place or thing, keeping it a secret from everyone else in the car. The other players should then begin asking yes or no questions to find out what the answer might be. For example, the players might ask if an animal can be a pet. If the leader is thinking of a cat, she would answer yes. Whoever guesses the answer in less than 20 questions gets to think of the next object and start a new round of the game.

    Alphabet Game

    • Challenge the girls to work together while keeping a close eye on things passing by with the alphabet game. Begin by asking them to find something starting with the letter A, such as an apple tree or airplane. When they've each found an A item, ask the girls to move on to B, such as a bus or bakery. The game will not only keep the 8-year-olds entertained but it will also help them catch up on their spelling.
