YMCA Sports
There are numerous YMCA locations in Fort Worth (ymcafw.org) that offer a variety of indoor sports, such as swimming, basketball, indoor soccer and tennis. Kids can join leagues, take lessons or just have some fun playing casually. Along with teaching the fundamentals of each sport, YMCA youth instructors also teach values of sportsmanship and good teamwork. Joining a league or lesson group here allows your kid to learn a sport while making friends and learning good character qualities.
Main Event USA
Main Event USA (maineventusa.com) in Fort Worth is an arcade and bowling alley that offers many games and entertainment for kids, including laser tag, billiards, rock climbing, glow golf and a gravity ropes course. Food is also available. This entertainment center is an ideal place to have a birthday party for your child because of its eclectic mix of games and child-focused atmosphere.
Galleria Ice Skating Center
If your kid enjoys ice-skating, try the Galleria Skating Center (galleriaiceskatingcenter.com). Not only does the center offer skating lessons, it also offers discounts for groups. There is daily public skating time, and admission is $9 plus $3 to rent skates in 2011. Lessons for kids range from basic skating to the teaching of freestyle performance skating.
Pump It Up
Pump It Up (pumpitupparty.com) offers an indoor play place filled with huge inflatable structure, such as slides and bounce houses. The inflatable arena allows kids to jump, bounce, climb and slide safely. Varying structures are available; your child can choose between slides, mazes and obstacle courses. Located in Fort Worth on Green Oaks Road, Pump It Up offers open jump times for $7 per child in 2011, special themed events (such as holiday themes) and birthday party packages.
