Wall-E Games for Kids

Walt Disney-Pixar's computer-animated "Wall-E" emerged as one of 2008's highest-grossing films and cemented a place in movie history for its futuristic robot protagonists, garbage-cleaning Wall-E and his love interest, Eve. Kids can play "Wall-E" games that capture the spirit of the film and take them on both educational and fun adventures.
  1. Electronic/Video Games

    • Wall-E helps teach kids letter recognition, math and spelling skills in Leap Frog's "Wall-E" Leapster Learning Game, recommended for ages 4 and up. Kids solve math problems to form constellations patterns in "Star Gazing," and answer spelling questions and blast robots to help Eve bring Wall-E home in "Axiom Action." In "Sorting and Recycling," kids learn recycling facts and help Wall-E sort trash. Players help Wall-E and Eve race, fly and shoot enemies across the cosmos in THQ Inc's "Wall-E," available for most major video game platforms, PC and Mac systems. Kids create and throw cubes as they battle robots and other obstacles.

    Party Games

    • Wall-E-themed parties give kids a chance to participate in "junk" games based on the movie. Make a list of junk items and hide the items inside or outside the house. Have kids embark on a scavenger hunt to find all the listed items. Kids also exercise their creativity with junk items, competing to build the best junk sculpture or objects. For an educational junk game, gather all recyclable items and have kids separate and sort the items by category -- aluminum, cardboard, glass, paper and plastic. Supervise the latter game especially closely to ensure kids do not injure themselves with aluminum or glass items.

    Time-Crunch Online Games

    • Kids try to find hidden inventory objects before time runs out in "Collections," found at Disney and other sites. Wall-E loses energy as time passes and if players click wrong spots. Have kids pop all bubbles with Eve's laser before time runs out in "Pop." As players move the mouse to pop bubbles, the laser freezes for a brief time if kids touch Wall-E's hands or move the laser off the sheet. Kids follow a green hologram to find Eve before time runs out in "Space Escape." Players press the arrow keys to move; the "Up" arrow activates the fire extinguisher and provides a propulsion boost. Shields protect Wall-E from asteroids, while time power-ups give Wall-E more time.

    Miscellaneous Online Games

    • Wall-E hides his pet cockroach Hal under junkyard cups in "Cup Shuffle," found at Disney and other sites. Kids see Hal's location and try to keep track of the cup as Wall-E shuffles three cups. Players advance to the next level upon finding Hal two out of three times. Kids help Wall-E destroy a trash tower and keep Hal away from electrified cable in "Trash Tower." Players click beams to remove them and wait until the tower stabilizes before clicking other beams. Score major points with three balls in "Pinball." Press and hold down the "Down" arrow before releasing, and press the "Left" and "Right" arrow keys to control the flippers. Shoot junk items in "Scrap Shoot." Move the mouse to aim and click to shoot items. Earn bonus points for accurate shooting.
