How to Make a Simple Booby Trap

The term booby trap often conjures up images of explosives, trip wires, mines, pitfalls and other deadly means of dealing with an adversary. However, a booby trap is also a means of executing a less violent and potentially deadly practical joke. Booby traps are also pranks that are employed between friends or acquaintances especially during times of rivalry. Roommates, coworkers, opposing team members and other individuals often become the target of a prank booby trap.

Things You'll Need

Doorway
Plastic container
Water
Step ladder or chair

Instructions

  Fill a plastic bucket or container at least half way full with water.

  Open the door in the doorway where you want to set the booby trap. Choose a doorway that the intended victim is likely to use. Open the door no more than one to 1-1/2 feet wide to allow the trap to be set.

  Use a step ladder or chair to stand in and raise the water-filled container up to the top of the door.

  Place the plastic container on top of the door. Position the container in the middle of the door's top edge.

  Balance the container on the top edge of the door. Position the container slightly toward the door frame so that when the door is opened by the intended victim the weight will cause the container to fall toward rather than away from the intended target.
