Granny and Grandpa
Have everyone turn up for the sleepover dressed as a granny or grandpa. Spray hair with gray hair color. Add curlers and hair nets for girls. Borrow an old-fashioned night dress or night gown. Girls should wear large fluffy slippers. Add long johns for boys and a night cap. Carry some pretend false teeth in a jar or a hot-water bottle. Use a walking stick to help make your way to bed.
Blind Makeover Party
Instead of using a girls' sleepover as a conventional pampering session, make it more memorable by having a blind makeover session instead. One person wears a blindfold and puts makeup on a second person. That person then repeats the process on the next person. Draw straws to determine the order. Keep the makeup on all evening -- no one will be able to talk seriously without giggling. Take plenty of photos to preserve the memories.
Monster Mayhem
This works well for kids having a sleepover outside in a tent or tree house. Have everyone dress in regular pajamas, dressing gowns and slippers, but have funny monster masks to wear. Watch the movie Monsters Inc. before you head outside. Pass around a torch to light up your monster faces as you tell spooky stories. Have a monster midnight feast, with cookies and cupcakes frosted to look like eyeballs or decorated with gummy worms.
Zombie Sleepover
This sleepover idea works well for teens, who will enjoy creating their own "night of the living dead." Have everyone wear regular sleepwear, but use face paints to create zombie or vampire makeup. Play Make a Mummy by dividing into two teams. Choose one person to be the mummy. Have the other team members wrap the mummy with toilet paper. The first team to entirely cover its mummy wins.
