Slumber Party Pagent Makeover
Dress-up and makeover games are especially popular with teenage girls. What better way to entertain your slumber party guests than having a pageant makeover contest? Divide the girls into groups of two or three. Have one group member be the makeover subject and the others conduct the makeover. Give each group a box of pageant-type dresses and accessories to work from that includes makeup and hair products. Establish a makeover time limit. Then have the made-over contestants participate in a mini pageant to vote on a winner. Use a digital photo to capture before and after photos for the final judging.
Clown Dress-Up Relay
Kids of all ages enjoy relay games, and you can use these games at club meetings, school field days or church festivals. Divide the kids into teams of six to eight. Designate a starting line and a finish line. Put a box of clown-themed dress up clothes behind each team's starting line. Line up the teams in straight lines behind the finish line. One at a time, each team member runs to the starting line, dresses up in four separate clown items before returning to the finish line and removing the items. The next person collects the discarded clothes, runs back to the box and dumps them in before dressing herself in any four items from the box. Then she runs back to the finish line. The first team to get through all the players wins.
Superhero Makeover
Make your superhero makeover contest fun for boys or girls of any age. Turn the contest into a guessing game by having participants write the name of their favorite superheros on a piece of paper and mix them in a bowl. Each participant draws a superhero from the bowl and secretly constructs his costume out of craft supplies and household items such as paper plates, trash bags and paper cups. The winner is the superhero that gets the most correct guesses from other participants, identifying him with the superhero he drew from the bowl.
Photo Shoot Party
Take your dress up game to a new level by making it a photo shoot party. Set up a few different stations, such as makeup, costume selection (costumes that go on top of clothing) and a photo station. Use a white sheet as a backdrop, a portable fan for that professional photo shoot feel and some popular music choices so the kids can choose their favorite tunes to pose to. Have participants strike a pose one at a time while you take several digital shots -- full-body shots and closeups. Print the best photos of each child and post them all in a photo gallery area at the end of the shoot. Their favorite photos can be take-home souvenirs.
