Preschool Bible Christmas Games

Christmas has a special place in kids' hearts. They look forward to it because of the presents, parties and Santa and snowman images. However, parents and teachers should teach children that Christmas is really about the Savior's birth, which is described in the Bible. If you have preschool kids or students, teach them what Christmas really is through preschool Bible Christmas games.
  1. Christmas Puzzles

    • Look for three colorful and vivid Christmas pictures in the Internet. You may choose a nativity scene, wise men following the star of Bethlehem and shepherds on the field. Print two copies of each picture on board papers. Set aside the first sets and tape each against a wall. These will serve as the kids' puzzle guide. Cut the second set of pictures into 10 pieces each creating a puzzle. Mix all the pieces in one box and you're ready to facilitate the game. Ask the children to group themselves into three. The goal is to complete the puzzle assigned to each group in the shortest possible time. After the game, you may also tell them a short story about the pictures.

    The Christmas Story Quiz Game

    • Divide the children into two teams. Tell the kids to listen carefully to your Christmas story from the Bible because after the story, you will be asking them questions. Use Christmas stories from Luke 2:1-7, Luke 2: 8-14, Luke 2: 8-14, Matthew 2:1-6 and Matthew 2: 9-11. Ask the teams questions about the readings and let them come with an answer together. Each team who gets a correct answer on the quiz will get a point. The winning team gets a prize.

    Match the Shapes

    • Draw different Christmas shapes on a large pieces of felt. Make sure the shapes you will draw are mentioned on the Bible Christmas story (star, baby, crown, mother, father, three gifts, manger, etc.). Cut the shapes and give each preschooler one shape. Before you begin the game, tell the Christmas story to the kids. After the storytelling, divide the children into two groups. Each child will match the shape to the corresponding space in the felt and tell a short story about how the shape is used in the Christmas story. Each kid who matches the shape right and tells the right description or story gets a point. The winning team gets a prize.

    Happy Birthday Jesus

    • This is similar to "Trip to Jerusalem" or "Musical chairs" but instead of using any song, use the "Happy Birthday" song with "Jesus" replacing the "to you" part of the song. Prepare chairs in a circular position. The number of chairs should be one less than the number of children. Tell the kids to sing the "Happy Birthday Jesus" song and by the end of the song, the kids should be able to grab a seat. The child without a chair is out. However, before you start the game, make sure to tell the children the Christmas story, making sure they understand that Christmas is about Jesus' birth.
