Dinosaur Eating Adventure Games

It's no secret that children are fascinated with dinosaurs, a fact that's been exploited by the makers of everything from breakfast cereal to Saturday-morning cartoons. The Internet contains numerous dinosaur-based adventure games, including some that feature the dinosaur eating its way through the game. Some are simply comic, while others attempt to teach the user about dinosaur lifestyles.
  1. Diego's Dinosaur Adventure

    • "Diego's Dinosaur Adventure" features the cartoon star of popular animated series "Go Diego Go." The game follows Diego and his sister, Alicia, on several adventures at the dinosaur museum. Children take the characters through three adventures games (each with various levels) that include saving dinosaur eggs and feeding the correct foods to prehistoric beasts. "Diego's Dinosaur Adventure" is recommended for children ages 5 to 8 and can be played with one or two players.

    Dino Run

    • "Dino Run" at the game site Kongregate has players assume the identity of a dinosaur trying to avoid the "pyroclastic wall of doom" and evade numerous obstacles while trying to get safely to a dinosaur sanctuary. The only way the dinosaur can survive and save its species from extinction is to eat various items along the way. Those items include bones and assorted "critters" that give the player precious DNA.

Big Al - The Great Adventure

    • This educational game on the BBC website is inspired by its acclaimed "Walking With Dinosaurs" TV specials. Players help an Allosaurus go from a baby to a mature adult by finding him enough to eat. The player uses a compass to move "Al" toward potential snacks and dinners. However, the player has to know what Al can handle. If the creature is larger than Al (which is indicated by a red bar), any attempt to eat it will result in Al becoming a victim, and the player going back to the start.

    Purely Games

    • Purely-games.com had 36 dinosaur-themed games as of 2011, all of which are free to play online. Among these are "Dinosaur Babies," which requires players to feed and nurture an ever-growing group of baby dinosaurs, and "Dinosaur Fishing," which is based on Baryonyx, the only known land-based dinosaur that subsisted on fish. In what may be the site's strangest game, titled "Have a Nice Day," a giant T-rex teams up with a ninja to fight --- and eat --- zombies.
