Best Friend Games for Girls

"Best Friends Forever," or BFF, is an honor that a young woman bestows on the pals who stick with her through thick and thin. Hanging out with that one best friend or a small gathering of girlfriends together can result in lots of giggling and hours of fun. Infuse fun, social games into the mix for even more laughs and bonding.

The Gift Fairy
- Everyone likes receiving (and giving) gifts of appreciation. Commit to your best friend to be a "Gift Fairy" to each other and surprise each other with gifts every day for a week. The gifts don't have to be expensive or extravagant, but should be meaningful. Your best friend's favorite lip balm, a greeting card, or a yummy candy bar would all be special treats. Hide the gifts in unexpected places, such as a locker, a front step or even a jacket pocket, for added fun. The object of the game is to give seven gifts to your friend without being detected. For a group of friends, draw names to decide who will give gifts to which girl.
Progressive Story
- In this game, the first player writes the first paragraph of a story before she passes the story onto her best friend. After writing another paragraph to the story, she passes it back to the original player. If more than two girls are playing, the story gets passed around in a cycle so that each girl gets a turn to write. If the story is not passed onto another player within 24 hours of receiving it, that player is out of the game.
Oops Word
- Each friend receives ten pennies. Together, the players decide not to say a certain word for the course of a week. The word should be one that they will encounter frequently during the length of the game, such as the name of a school or a favorite restaurant. If one player catches another player saying the word, she collects a penny from the person who said the "Oops Word." The player with the most pennies at the end of the game wins.
Scavenger Hunt
- Develop a list of activities to perform or items to collect. Examples include singing the national anthem on the school steps, taking a picture with someone wearing green or finding a picture of a horse in a magazine. The list is given to each player and a time frame is set for completion. At the end of the game, the players gather to evaluate each other's lists. The girl who completes all of the tasks wins. If more than one girl completes the list, the first person to complete all of the tasks wins.
