Treasure Hunt
The name of the game is exciting in itself. Tell the kids that they will be participating in a treasure hunt and they must follow the clues to find the hidden treasure. Hide a treasure box filled with small goodies and create a map to help children find their way to the treasure. The map should include clues that help them find their way down the right path. This game is best played outside.
Matching Pictures
Use pictures of animals or fun characters to help children exercise their memory. Create two matching sets of approximately 6 to 10 pictures. These can be hand drawn on thick paper to make sure children can̵7;t see through the backside of the photos. Lay the pictures out and allow the child to glance at them for a few seconds and then flip them over. The object of the game is to see how many matches the child can find.
Finding Mismatches
The mismatch game is best used on a group of kids. Divide children into two groups and have one group move items around in the room while the other group is waiting outside. The second group then has to try to put back all the items in the correct places.
Matching Legos
Put two children back to back and hand them the same amount of identical Legos. Have one child describe how he is assembling his Legos and have the other child follow his directions without looking. Once finished; the children can see how close they get to matching up with one another. This is a great game for teaching kids to listen and memorize.
