Bible Bowling
Erect two sets of 10 plastic two-liter soda bottles in the typical bowling pin layout. After a Bible lesson or discussion, divide the students into teams of two. Ask each team a question related to the lesson. If a team member answers the question correctly, he gets a chance to bowl. Teamwork to answer the question is encouraged. If the team answers incorrectly, move to the other team. The first team to knock down all the "pins" wins.
Ten Commandments
Write the Ten Commandments on slips of paper. Have the children sort them into the correct order.
Sword Drills
Give each child a Bible and then, after a suitably dramatic pause, announce a scripture reference. The first child to find the reference in the Bible wins the "sword drill."
Scribbles
Ask a child to come up to the chalkboard or whiteboard and draw a random scribble. The teacher or activity supervisor must then add to the scribble to develop an image that represents an object, person or scene from the Bible. Children will gleefully draw increasingly wild and challenging scribbles to see if the teacher will finally be stumped.
Campfire Quiz
Build a small campfire in a safe outdoor location. Prepare a list of basic Bible lesson questions, and ask each child a question. For each correct answer, the child can throw a stick onto the fire. The more correct answers, the larger the fire gets. Once each child has had the chance to answer a question, pass out marshmallows to roast.
