Christian Hide & Seek Games for Children

For a group of Christian children, whether for Sunday School or youth group, teach them a game that is also educational. You don't have to invent a new game; you can adapt games that kids know to teach them about Christianity, such as hide-and-seek. Appoint one child as Christ, who will hide while the rest of the group searches for him. You can teach the children about finding Jesus Christ and accepting Him into their lives.
  1. Lessons

    • Before beginning hide-and-seek, tell the children the lessons you want them to understand within the game. The main lesson is to find the path to Jesus by accepting Him as their Savior. Explain, that like finding another person in hide-and-seek, finding Jesus takes some searching.

    Instructions

    • The rules for Christian hide-and-seek games are different than the rules for regular hide-and-seek. In regular hide-and-seek, one child counts while everyone else hides. In Christian hide-and-seek, one child hides while the rest of the group tries to find her. Choose one child to represent Christ and ask her to hid while the rest of the children close their eyes and count to 60. Once they reach 60, the children look for "Christ."

    Variations

    • Other variations of Christian hide-and-seek games have more than one person hiding. For example, have three children hiding, each representing one aspect of the Holy Trinity: The Father, Son and the Holy Spirit. To make the game more interesting, have the children dress in their roles. For example, the "Father" can wear a white beard and the "Son" can wear a brown beard.

    Safety

    • If you're playing the game outside, find a spot away from any safety hazards, such as power lines, a swimming pool or high traffic areas. Be present during the entire game to make sure the children play the game properly and stay safe.
