Candystick Kids Games

Games involving candy are always fun. They keep kids entertained and are often extremely simple, which makes them great for younger kids. While most games involving candy sticks are related only to the holidays, with a few changes most holiday candy stick games can be used all year long. From games that involve only a couple of players to games that involve entire teams, these games are guaranteed to give children hours of fun.
  1. Candy Stick Pass

    • This game is ideal for playing in classrooms or with large families. Candy stick pass is played like a traditional relay race game. In order to play this game, you must have at least two teams of three. Each team must have 4 candy sticks. One person per team must start out with the 4 candy sticks between their fingers. Each player must pass the candy sticks between their fingers to the next player without dropping them. Whoever drops a candy stick is out of the game. The game continues until there is one player left.

    Candy Sticks

    • Ideally, this game is played with six players or fewer. For this game you will need:

      Deck of cards

      Candy sticks

Begin the game by choosing a dealer. The dealer will hand out four cards per player. The remaining cards will be placed face down in front of the dealer. Place the appropriate amount of candy sticks in the middle of the table. The number of candy sticks used will depend on how many people are playing. Always place one fewer candy stick than the amount of people playing. For instance, if you have five players, you will only use four candy sticks. The goal of Candy Sticks is to be the first person to get a four of a kind card set in your hand. The game officially begins with the dealer taking a card from the pile that is facedown. The dealer will then decide if they would like to keep that card or pass it to the person on their left. If the dealer decideds to keep the card, they must pass one of their original four cards to the person on their left. Each player takes their turn in this manner until someone gets a card set. Once a player has gotten a card set, they must take a candy stick without anyone noticing. After the first person gets their candy stick, any other player may take a candy stick. The player that does not grab a candy stick is penalized with a point. The first person to reach five points is out. The game continues until one player is declared the winner.

    Pick Up Candy Sticks

    • This game is best played with at least two people. The object is to get as many sticks as possible into your pile. To play the game, one person must be chosen as the dropper and another person is chosen as the first to try and pick up the sticks. The dropper will drop the candy sticks so they fall into a haphazard manner. The other person must then try to pick up as many sticks as possible without moving any of the other sticks. If they move any of the other sticks, their turn is over and another person will get the chance to pick up the candy sticks. The game continues until all of the candy sticks are gone. Once the candy sticks are gone, each player counts how many sticks they have obtained. Whoever has the most sticks wins the game.

    Candy Stick Jacks

    • Jacks are a classic game that is best played with two or three people. For this game, smaller candy sticks are ideal. For this game you will need:

      10 Small Candy Sticks

      Rubber ball

Begin this game by scattering all of the candy sticks on the ground. The first player will throw the ball up in the air and pick up one candy stick before the ball bounces. After the ball bounces once, catch the ball with your throwing hand. Continue throwing the ball, picking up the candy sticks and catching the ball until all 10 candy sticks are picked up. The game continues by increasing the number of candy sticks you pick up. After you start out picking up one candy stick, you will then move on to picking up two candy sticks at a time and so forth. The game is played until you are picking up all 10 candy sticks at one time. Your turn is over if you miss the ball or pick up the wrong number of candy sticks.
