Outdoor Bubble Contest
Give each child a supply of bubble solution to use for the bubble contest. Place large plastic tablecloths on tables with a variety of bubble-blowing tools, such as bubble wands, straws, funnels, wire loops and wire clothes hangers. Give the children 10 minutes to practice using the bubble-blowing tools. Tell them after 10 minutes, they will have a contest to see who can blow the largest bubble, who can stack the most bubbles on top of one another and who can create the longest-lasting bubble. Award prizes to the players who win each bubble contest.
Balloon Sandwiches
Have each player select a partner and give each pair a balloon. The players must place the balloons between their backs. When you yell, "Pop that balloon," the first team to pop their balloon using only their backs wins the game. Tell the players they cannot use their hands to pop the balloons.
Spider Game
Divide the players into two teams and give each team a rope. Each team must stand in a circle and hold on to the rope. All players around the rope must be facing the middle of the circle. Each team is now a "spider." Mark a starting line and a finish line about 40 feet apart. Have both teams line up side-by-side at the starting line. When you say, "Go," the teams must run as fast as they can to the starting line without letting go of the rope. If a player falls down, the team must stop until the child gets back up. The first team across the finish line wins the race.
Hand, Head and Feet Race
Mark a starting line and a finish line about 20 feet apart. All players must line up at the starting line. Give each player a cup of water for the left hand, a broom to hold in the right hand, a book to put on his head and a soccer ball to kick. The players must hold all items while kicking the ball to the finish line. The first player to cross the finish line with all items still intact wins the game.
