Games for Two or Three Children

Games are a wonderful way to entertain small groups of two or three children.They not only provide a source of amusement, but they can also offer children an opportunity to socialize with their peers. Playing games can help children build confidence and self-esteem. Groups of two or three children can play a variety of games which can teach them many valuable skills and encourage healthy activity.
  1. Charades

    • Charades can be very exciting for children and it gets everyone involved.Children have fun acting out secret words or phrases without speaking, while the other players try and guess what the word or phrase is.This game teaches children concentration and control while they are trying to interpret the secret phrases or words without any help from verbal cues. Charades can also supply children with a creative outlet for expression and enhance their levels of communication.

    Creature Guessing Game

    • The creature guessing game can offer hours of entertainment for two or three children.The game starts by having one player think of a living creature and they may supply one hint to the other players such as "It is a large creature." The other players must then ask yes or no questions such as "Does it live in the water?" to try and figure out the identity of the creature. Children can take turns guessing and thinking up creatures. When playing the game with three children the first child to guess what the creature is wins and gets to be next person to think of a creature.The creature guessing game will encourage deep thinking and imagination while children are differentiating between the many possibilities of what the creature in question could be.

    Scavenger Hunt

    • A scavenger hunt is a great game for a small group of two or three children to play. This game can be played both inside or an outdoor setting which has boundaries such as in a safe and fenced-in area. Giving each child a list of clues to find objects (and/or a list of objects to be found) will teach problem-solving skills. Playing a game of scavenger hunt will also supply children with healthy physical activity as they race around searching for the items to be found.

    Bottle Bowling

    • This game can be played by groups of two or three children and it offers a creative way to reuse rinsed plastic bottles. The plastic bottles can be lined up like bowling pins and children can have fun knocking them down by rolling a tennis ball as if it were a bowling ball. Bottle bowling is best played outdoors or in larger indoor spaces such as a gymnasium to ensure that the ball has plenty of room so that it does not damage any indoor objects.This game will teach children how to take turns as well as strengthen their hand-eye coordination and motor skills.
