Christian Kid's Games and Activities

Games and activities are good ways to each important Biblical truths to your children, and you can also use these things to inspire them when they face difficult situations. When thinking of activities for the children, you want to consider what types of lessons you want to teach through them. You can also find ideas for games by visiting your local Christian bookstore and purchasing some activity books or magazines with lesson plans in them.
  1. Bible Word Search Game

    • One idea is to have your own word search game where you create a few lists of Bible-related words and the puzzles, then ask each child to search for the words. For example, one child may find words in a puzzle that deals with kindness while another child would find words that relate to the book of Proverbs. To make the game interesting, ask each child to take those same puzzle words and create a story with them that discusses Bible lessons you taught them. The winner with the most creative story will get a puzzle book and colored pencils.

    Guess The Biblical Character

    • Another idea is to have a game where you describe certain Biblical characters and the children will have to guess who you're talking about. For example, if you say something like, "I'm the Jewish queen who helped stop the extermination of the Jews in Persia and this book in the Bible is named after me," a child would answer "Esther." The child who guesses the most answers right will receive a bag of healthy but delicious snacks.

    Where is This Verse Found?

    • To test children's knowledge of important Bible passages, you can have a game that asks them in which book certain verses are found. For example, you can ask them questions such as, "In which book of the Bible can you find the verse 'Blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the earth?'"or, "Where can you find the verse in the New Testament where the apostle Paul says that for by grace are you saved and it's not of yourselves?" The top two participants get to answer a bonus question for a special prize.

    Bible Skits

    • If you want to add drama to your Sunday school class or homeschooling lessons, you can divide your class into groups of three and assign them a Bible-related theme for a skit they can work on together. Then the the groups will compete for the title of best play while performing their skits in front of you. You'll judge each play and give comments, and the group with the best skit will receive a certificate with decorations on it.
