Definition
Ghost Bingo is another way to play Bingo. Instead of "B-I-N-G-O," write "G-H-O-S-T" at the top of each card. When a child gets a Bingo, have her say, "Boo" instead of "Bingo." To continue the Halloween theme, give the kids candy corn or spooky stickers to cover their numbers.
Equipment
Customize regular Bingo cards by covering the Bingo heading and writing G-H-O-S-T across the top. Make the cards festive by cutting off the Bingo heading and pasting the Bingo card to colored pieces of construction paper.
Ready-made Ghost Bingo cards are available online. Some have pictures instead of numbers on the cards making the game even more festive and easier for younger children. Instead of calling out "G4," for example, you call out "G black cat."
Preparation
If your party is for older children, enlist their help in making Ghost Bingo cards. Using a regular Bingo set as your reference, have the kids make Bingo cards with orange and black paper. You can either have them use Halloween stickers or write numbers on the cards. If you are writing on the cards, use white or silver crayons for black construction paper. If you are using stickers, have a large variety available so that the game lasts longer.
Ghost Bingo for Halloween and Beyond
Don't limit Ghost Bingo to Halloween parties. Using the principles of Ghost Bingo, you can create other Holiday Bingo games. For Valentine's Day, create a Heart Bingo game. Write "H-E-A-R-T" across the top and use conversation hearts to cover up the Bingo numbers. For a party during the Easter season, play Chick Bingo and use images of colored eggs to cover the numbers.
