Tic-Tac-Stone
Draw an enlarged tic-tac-toe play area on your sidewalk or pavement. Using two colors of chalk, cover 10 stones in two different colors, five for each color. Children either individually or in small groups take turns tossing their colored stone into the play area with the goal of being the first to get three in a row.
Silhouettes
Children in pairs will have a blast tracing the elongated shadow of each other. Decorate their silhouette in a crazy fun way or performing wild tasks while others attempt to guess which person it is or what they are doing. It is comparable to chalk person charades.
Bullseye
Using different colors of chalk, draw an over-sized dart board, numbering the sections will different amounts of points. Throw a small outdoor ball toward the target and try to get a bullseye. Add the number of points that each child accrues in three turns and the person with the greatest number of points after all have had a turn is the winner.
Obstacle Course
A large pavement area such a driveway is ideal for an outdoor obstacle course. Draw imaginative obstacles such as a gator-filled lagoon, toadstools and a circus tightrope to form an obstacle course for your children. The first person to successfully make it entirely through the course is the winner.
