Pumpkin Toss
Create a pumpkin toss game for the children using real pumpkins and candy corn. Cut the tops off the pumpkins and clean them out. Arrange the pumpkins on the floor and mark a standing line about 10 feet away. Give each child five pieces of candy corn to try to toss in the pumpkin. For each piece of candy he lands in a pumpkin, he wins a small prize.
Seed Sucking
Line up six players in front of a table and let them stand up. Place two cups in front of each player; one with five pumpkin seeds and one empty cup. Give each player a drinking straw. When you say, "Go," each player has to use the drinking straw to suck the pumpkin seed to the bottom of the straw and place it in the empty cup. The first player to transfer all five seeds from one cup to another using only the straw wins the game.
Ring the Bottles
Paint 2-liter soda bottles or glass bottles with orange, brown and yellow acrylic paint. This will give the bottles a fall look. Use stencils to paint fall leaves, pumpkins and gourds on the bottle for more decoration. Find metal or wood rings at your local craft store that are approximately 3 inches in width. Mark a standing line with tape about 10 feet from the bottles. Give each child five rings and let him try to toss the rings on the bottlenecks. For each bottle he rings, he wins a small prize.
Pumpkin Pass
Have all players sit or stand in a circle and hand one player a pumpkin. Play music and have the children pass the pumpkin around the circle. Once the music stops, the player holding the pumpkin is out of the game. Keep playing until only one-player remains, who is the winner. Be sure the person controlling the music cannot see the players to make it fair. The last player standing wins the pumpkin or another prize to take home.
