Things You'll Need

Make your own board game. Download and print all of the information listed first in the "References" section. Simply click the link and follow directions to make your very own snowflake board game. You will need to print out everything. Download and save everything to your computer so you can make a new game if yours gets messed up, or if you want to give one to a friend.
Idea: make a "Winter Survival Kit" for a neighbor as a gift. Be sure to print out and prepare the game for them. Include cocoa and snacks, and place them in a decorated shoe box. Wish them "Happy Holidays" in an inexpensive and thoughtful way.
Use a ruler and measure the top of the index card at the 5-inch mark. Measure to 3 inches and put a hash mark indicating where that is on your card. Do this for twenty cards. Cut them all to size so that each card now measures 3- by 3-inches.
Take a piece of paper and cut it to measure 3- by 3-inches. You can use plain white computer paper for this. Fold the paper into a triangle, then fold that triangle into a triangle. Fold it again until you have a thin cone shape and cut the bottom of the cone to make it even at the bottom. This is the widest part at the base of the cone.
Repeat step 3, so you should now have two cones. Place one on top of the other and cut into them with a pair of good scissors. You should cut little triangles, zigzag shapes or a few circles. Keep it simple. Unfold the cones and you should have two snowflakes the exact same design. Mark a little "1" in pencil on both and add some designs with colored pencils if you want. Just be sure to keep your graphic designs the exact same. Glue the backs of the the snowflakes down onto the cards you made earlier. Set them aside to dry.
Repeat steps 3 and 4 until you have ten matches, twenty cards total. Be sure to label the next set of snowflakes "2," then "3" and so forth. Allow all your matches to dry.
Play the game by placing all of your snowflake cards, with the snowflake facing down, on the table. Keep them in neat little rows. Take turns turning over two cards. If you have a match, then choose again until you turn over two cards that do not match. If your two cards do not match, it is the other person's turn. Keep the cards in the same place when you turn them over to see if you have a match. Turn them back over and keep them in the place until a match is made.
