Game Instructions for American Girl 300 Wishes Game

The 300 Wishes Game by the popular American Girl company allows girls to learn more about themselves and their friends as they talk about their greatest wishes and desires. Designed for three to four players, the object of the game is to exchange wishes and rank them according to level of desirability.

Instructions

    • 1

Select a wish diary for each player. Open the diaries, place the key into the score counter and turn to set the score at zero, then close. Choose a player to be the dealer. Dealer will shuffle the wish cards and deal five cards to each player in a three-player game, or four cards to each player in a four-player game. Place the remaining cards in a pile.

    • 2

Look at the wish cards you were dealt and decide which other player would like that wish the most. Choose two cards for each other player in a three-player game, and one card for the other players in a four-player game. Exchange wishes by placing the cards into the wish-card slot on the receiving player's diary. All players should exchange their wish cards at the same time. Discard your remaining wish cards.

    • 3

Open your diary and shuffle your wish cards so you can't guess who gave which card. Read the wishes and rank them in the order that best suits you. The most desired wish will be placed in the slot with the highest number of stars. The wish you want least will be put in the one-star slot.

    • 4

Share your results. Take turns, allowing each player to read her lowest ranking wish first. Talk about what you did and did not like about each wish. Read all wishes from lowest to highest star ranking. Give the card back to the player who gave it to you. The player who gave you the card will then place the card in the corresponding star slot on the right side of her diary.

    • 5

Score your game by adding up the number of stars each player received for that round. Three points are awarded to the player with the most stars. The second highest receives two points, while the third and fourth receive one point each. Use the key and score counter to keep track of the number of points each player has.
