Things You'll Need
Instructions
Place the two cornhole platforms 27 feet apart. The distance can vary if you are not particular about adhering to association rules: Just make sure the platforms are a healthy distance apart but can still be reached by a normal beanbag toss.
Position team members. If playing a singles match, one person stands next to one platform, and the other stands next to the opposite platform.
Begin an inning by having one team toss beanbags at the opposite platform. In a singles match, one player begins and tosses both of her beanbags. After one player's bags are thrown, the other player tosses his. In a doubles match, a team's players alternate tossing bags until all four have been thrown. Then the other team does the same thing. For each throw, players have no more than 20 seconds to execute their toss. When both teams have tossed their beanbags, the inning is considered over.
Tally any points accrued in an inning. A beanbag that goes through the cornhole platform's hole is worth three points. A beanbag that lands on the platform but does not fall completely in the hole is worth one point. A beanbag that does not fall in the hole or on the platform is worth nothing. Beanbags resting on the platform during an inning can be knocked into the hole by other beanbags, resulting in three points at the end of the inning instead of one. At the end of each inning, all beanbags resting on the platform are cleared.
Play innings until a team reaches 21 points. If the first team to throw in an inning reaches 21 points or goes over 21, the other team has the opportunity to throw its beanbags before victory is declared. If both teams are tied at 21 when an inning ends, another full inning is played. Whichever team has the higher score at the end of the inning wins. In the result of another tie, innings continue until one team has outscored the other.
