Disney Toddler Games

Finding games that are exciting, enjoyable and educational, and encourage children to stay active, is often a difficult task for many parents of toddlers. Disney's websites offer parents a wide variety of game options that fit this criteria to share with their toddlers. Many of these games use shapes, numbers, animals, familiar characters, bright colors and melodic sounds to keep children entertained and can be played online, indoors or outdoors.
  1. Online Games

    • Disney offers many online games that can be played on the Playhouse Disney website. In the game Choo-Choo Express, toddlers can help Mickey and friends get to the top of Mistletoe Mountain by figuring out the color pattern of the tracks under the train. This game uses familiar characters and colors to develop reasoning skills.

Toddlers can discover what mystery picture is hidden behind Donald Duck's number board in Mystery Picture Count Up. This game uses familiar characters and shapes to teach toddlers how to count and recognize numbers. Parents choose one of two difficulty levels, easy and medium.

In Minni's Skating Symphony, toddlers help Minni gather lost music notes by selecting arrows on the keyboard. They must avoid "sour notes" to reach the end of the game and play the mystery song. This game is more advanced and uses familiar characters and music to develop coordination, memory, recognition and reasoning skills.

    Alligator Swamp

    • Alligator Swamp is a game that can improve a toddler's balance and coordination. Scatter about 20 socks (alligators) around the floor in a circular pattern and place a beanbag animal in the middle. Have the toddler rescue the animal while hopping on one foot around the alligators without disturbing them. To make this game more educational, you may consider using foam numbers, alphabets or shapes. Have her reach the animal by removing specific pieces of foam.

    Alphabet Scramble

    • Encourage your toddler to learn his alphabets with a game of Alphabet Scramble. Write each letter of the alphabet on a separate sticky note and stick them on a long wall in order. Have the toddler study them for about three minutes before asking him to close his eyes. Scramble the alphabets up then have him open his eyes and put them back in order. You can make this game more advanced by using just the letters that spell out his name. Scramble those letters and have him put them back in order. This may teach him to recognize and spell his name.

    Water Games

    • Water games such as Go Fish and Fishing for Color provide excitement and education on a sunny day. Fill a pool with water and toss about ten animals, shapes, numbers or colors inside the water. Yell out a specific item and have the toddler use a plastic shovel to go "fishing" for the item. She can then scoop the item out of the water and into a bucket. This game can also improve her hand-eye coordination and balance.
