Take your child for a walk. Find a street to cross and find the safest place to cross. Stop and stand near the curb. Look left, then right to check for oncoming traffic. Walk straight across the crosswalk and continue listening and looking for traffic while crossing. For this exercise, it may be wise to choose a road that isn't busy with traffic.
