Madagascar 2 Games for Kids

Madagascar 2: Escape 2 Africa is an animated movie centered around a crazy collection of zoo animals--a lion named Alex, Marty the zebra, a hippo called Gloria, and Melman the giraffe--that end up in Africa. Whether your child loves the movie or is just crazy about zoo animals, they're sure to love games centered around these adventurous animals.
  1. Console Games

    • Made for Nintendo Wii, Playstation 3, XBox 360, Nintendo DS, and the Windows operating system, Madagascar Escape 2 Africa is an action-packed adventure game where the objective is to help the Madagascar characters save the African Savannah. The game features 12 different levels and eight multiplayer tournament mini-games, and your child can play 10 different characters. This game is rated for children over the age of 10 and includes some cartoon violence, mild suggestive themes, and simulated gambling.

    Online Games

    • Madagascar 2 online games (See Resources) are available through several different sources. In one game, your child must collect Madagascar 2 characters and get them to the airplane so that they can escape. In another, you must find Marty the zebra as he poses on different screens with all kinds of identical zebras.

You may also print out several games from the online sources. In "Name That Animal," your child uses clues to figure out which character is being described. "Madagascar Mix Up" is a picture game where your child must figure out what the differences are between two nearly identical pictures. There is also a "Pin the Tail on the Hippo" game available.

    Party Games

    • Before your party, hide small plastic penguins or pictures of penguins around the room. Have the children find the penguins, and whoever finds the most wins. To play Sleeping Lions, have all the children lie down like they are sleeping. Once they lie down, they cannot move. One or two hunters walk around and try to make the 'lions' move by telling them jokes or doing other things to make them laugh, but the hunters cannot touch them. When a child laughs he is no longer a lion, he must join the hunters. Whoever is lying down last is the winner. For a fun relay race, divide children into two groups. Give each team several small plastic animals, such as the ones in Madagascar 2, and a spoon. Make a start and finish line; label the starting line "Zoo" and the finish line "Madagascar". Each child must carry an animal in the spoon across the "Madagascar" line, drop the animal in a bucket, and pass the spoon to the next player. The first team to have all their animals cross the finish line wins!

    Board Game

    • Made by University Games, the Madagascar Escape 2 Africa board game helps improve your child's memorization skills. Your child matches a card with the space their character lands on. Whichever player reaches Africa with the most matches is the winner, and the game creates a different story each time your child plays. It is made for two to four players, age 3 to 7.
