Design Fun
Designing clothes for Barbies lets kids get creative and make their own unique looks. Have kids bring in any Barbie clothes that they have, or head to your local toy store and purchase some, and put them all into a pile. Set out jewels, glitter and fabric paint, along with child-safe scissors and glue. Have the kids take their Barbie clothes and revamp them with new designs.
My Own Barbie
Kids can make their own Barbies in their likeness. Have the children bring a Barbie that has their same skin tone. They need to decorate the doll to look like themselves. With the parent's permission, have the kids cut their Barbie's hair like their own style and dress her up to match themselves by decorating Barbie clothes to resemble what each child would wear.
Barbie Cake Decorating
Decorating a Barbie cake is a yummy activity to try with kids. Bake a cake in a large dome-shaped metal pan and then stick Barbie down into the middle of the dome, so that the cake looks like Barbie's skirt. Kids can then use icing, jelly beans, sprinkles and other cake decorating tools to make Barbie's cake dress look how they want it to.
Make Believe
Have kids dress up their Barbies and play make believe with them. Kids can pool together Barbie clothes and dress up their dolls like different characters. Write down story situations, throw them in a hat and have the children draw different stories to act out with their dolls.
