How to Play Children's Partner Games

Children enjoy playing games. Many times, these games can also be an excellent way to teach kids about losing gracefully, fair play and becoming a gracious winner. Playing partner games can also teach a child about teamwork and how to associate on a competitive level with his peers. Playing partner games does not have to be an expensive venture. These games can be played on a tight budget, or for free.

Instructions

  1. Fast Bowling

    • 1

Clean out the plastic bottles. Allow them to dry.

    • 2

Set 2 sets of 10 bottles into the shape of a pyramid, like how the pins are set in bowling.

    • 3

Make a line on the ground with a piece of brightly colored tape about 10 feet from each of the sets of bottles. The end result should resemble two bowling lanes.

    • 4

Divide four players into teams of two. Place one player from each team behind the soda bottles and place the other player from each team behind the line. Hand each of the children behind the line a plastic ball.

    • 5

Set a timer for one minute. On "go," instruct each team member behind the line to bowl the ball toward the plastic bottles. The teammate behind the bottles should roll the ball back.

    • 6

Instruct each teammate behind the line to continue to bowl until all the bottles are knocked over. Once this is accomplished, the teammates must switch places, and the teammate that will now stand behind the bottles must set them back up.

    • 7

Continue to instruct the partners to switch places until the time is up. The team with the most bottles knocked down in one minutes wins.

    Sculpture

    • 8

Gather up the nature items. These could be sticks, seashells, flowers or any other items from the backyard or at an expedition on the beach.

    • 9

Gather up items from the home. These could be empty juice boxes, aluminum cans or any other items that can be stacked safely around the house. Avoid using cleaning products, especially if the game participants will be younger children.

    • 10

Divide the children into groups of two.

    • 11

Divide the items into two piles or more. The piles should each contain the same items or at least items that are similar.

    • 12

Instruct the children to build a sculpture with the items in an allotted amount of time, such as five minutes. The children with the most inventive sculpture wins.
