Simon System
The Simon game system is a handheld device which uses colored lights and sounds to test your memory. It makes a great family or party game. It has four colored lights placed in a circle around the center of the game. Simon will first display a single color, combined with a tone. You must then tap the same color. If you are right, the first color/tone combination is repeated, and a second one is added. If you repeat these correctly, the first two are repeated and a third is added, and so on. The game continues until you miss one. It is available at toy stores and online.
Color Click
Although the premise seems simple, this online game is much harder than it sounds. A word will be displayed in colored typeface, such as black, yellow or orange. You must click the button at the bottom of the window which corresponds to the color of the text. What makes the game tricky is that the word which is displayed is the name of another color, such as red, pink or blue. At first it is easy to remember to click the color you see, not the word you read. As the words begin to be displayed faster and faster, it becomes more and more difficult to remember to click the color. Get them all to win the game, but miss and you have to start over.
Color Balls
This is another color memory game which starts slowly but begins to speed up as you continue to play. The first level has two pairs of colored balls which are hidden behind four blue doors. As the level begins, the doors slide open briefly, revealing the balls. Once the doors close again, click on two of the doors to reveal the colors behind those doors. If the colors match, the doors stay open and you move on to match the next pair. If your choices do not match, the doors slide closed and you can try again. Matches add 500 points to your score, misses remove 200 points. Each level adds more balls and colors. There are nine levels in all.
