CBS Games for Kids

CBS Broadcasting, Inc. (CBS) is one of the major American television networks, and it has a popular website at CBS.com. There are many games offered on this website that are perfect for the child who enjoys card, puzzle, arcade, sports and skills games. The games are simple in nature and some allow for enjoyable multi-player action.
  1. Cake Mania

    • Cake Mania is a cute cooking game available on the CBS website. The game is created by the Sandlot Games company and is available to play on the site or for personal download. The main character of the game, Jill, finds out that her family's bakery has closed down while she was away at culinary school. The game starts off in a tiny bakery where the player must help Jill to reach income goals to keep the business afloat. The game takes the player through an entire year of cake making and customer pleasing. It is simple to learn and should provide for some enjoyable time for children (Reference 1).

    Pet Rescue

    • This strategy game gives your child an opportunity to use his brain to rescue trapped cats, birds and dogs from a fire. The child must solve a puzzle by removing similar adjacent blocks from the puzzle to get the animals to go all the way to the bottom of the puzzle. The game is a free trial available from the game website King.com, and additional levels are available if you sign your child up for the King.com website. The game features animated animals and easy game play (Reference 2).

    Football Freekick

    • This enjoyable sports game from the CBS website is ideal for a child who enjoys soccer (or as it's known elsewhere in the world, football). In this game, the player attempts to defeat a computer opponent in a penalty kicking match. The player chooses the power and spin of his soccer kick in an effort to score a goal. After the player shoots, he has to block his opponent's kick by controlling the goalie. As he continues through the game, the player has the ability to upgrade his skills in power, spin and goal tending. The game features a cheering crowd, and is an easy game for kids to master (Reference 3).

    CBS Poker

    • Poker is a game that requires an understanding of mathematics (mostly probability) and can be a fun activity for kids to play when there is no actual risk of money or gambling involved. The game, available at the CBS site, mimics a video poker machine that you might find in a casino and is a quick way to learn the rules of the game. If your child likes card games, this will be a good game for him to pass the time (Reference 4).
